Ordered new tires from Crown Subaru (Tyler, Parts Department) to be ready by my scheduled maintenance appointment. I was quoted $173.89/tire with road hazard warranty (plus tax, mount/balance, alignment). When my wife picked up our car, she was charged $322.68/tire. So, Crown Subaru quoted and ordered my tires, received my tires, had them ready for my appointment, but somehow forgot the price I was quoted. Only after Tyler was consulted and confirmed my quote (which I also have in writing) did the service department adjust the price. Nobody pays $322/tire for BF Goodrich Advantage Control tires in 225/60R17. Top rated Michelin Cross Climate 2 cost $216.35 (as also quoted by Tyler). Also, the 24 month road hazard warranty and tire specs are nowhere to be found on my invoice, though once again I have a written quote from Subaru. I'm hoping this situation is a result of internal confusion, but it wreaks of something worse. This would not have happened under the previous owner (Kelly Subaru). The individuals I deal with now are the same -- high quality, professional, pleasant. But, the organization has changed for the worse and I don't trust Crown. I could have gotten these tires even cheaper at several sources in town (Quality Tire, Walmart) but chose Subaru to make future maintenance and rotations more convenient. That won't happen again.
