Empire Nissan of Hillside is horrible. This is my second time purchasing a car from them. I bought a 2019 Nissan Kicks in May 2019, no issues. 7 years later the car is giving problems, I returned to them, and it has been nothing but a problem. Not the car, the people. The salesperson Harold and the finance manager Austin are liars. I saw another review stating “2 guys” being deceitful, I’m sure it was the 2 of them. Harold and Austin are shady, Austin failed to give me a copy of the breakdown instead he rushed me to sign. I returned the next day demanding the breakdown, first Austin told me Capital One will send me docs in the mail he cannot give me anything. I called Capital One right away and was told he lied and to go back. Once I got it, I noticed Austin had added a $5300 warranty to my loan, a warranty plan I did not ask for. When I brought it to his attention his response, “I figured you wanted it because you had issues with your old car.” Excuse me?! He also charged me whatever for the vehicle because 2 days later I received an email from car fax and the value of the car is wayyyy less than what was sold to me. Scammers! Furthermore, it has been 3 ½ months since he claimed he removed the warranty, it is still attached to the loan. I went there yesterday and you would think I was new person, Harold treated me as if he had never seen me before. Bizzare. The lack of accountability is embarrassing. Avoid at all costs. I also forgot to add when I returned a few days later 6/17 to discuss the lies, Harold said to me, "If I knew you would be a problem I wouldn't have worked with you." Rude little man. This is not the end!

Im sharing my experience to warn others about billing practices at this dealership. When I purchased my vehicle on December 31, 2025, a $2,500 key replacement warranty was added to my contract without my knowledge or consent. I only discovered it after reviewing my paperwork and immediately returned to cancel it. I was told I would receive a refund within 46 weeks. It has now been several months, and I still have not received that refund. Ive called the dealership multiple times this month. Each time, Im told they need to email someone and that Ill get a callbackbut no one ever follows up. To make matters worse, when I contacted the warranty company directly, I was informed that an additional key replacement warranty for $287 had also been addedagain, without my authorization or any disclosure to me. At this point, this feels less like an oversight and more like a pattern of adding unauthorized charges and delaying refunds. If youre considering buying a vehicle here, review every line of your paperwork carefully before signing, and follow up aggressively on anything that doesnt look right. I am still waiting for my refund and a clear explanation.
