I had an extremely frustrating experience here at Lia Honda with Phil. It's not surprising other reviews showing the same experience as I did with him. I was bait and switched by Phil for my trade in. On Tuesday I walked in and negotiated an out the door price on an Accord and my trade in. After Phil wasn't budging, I decided Lia Honda was not going to take my offer so I walked out. Phil came running to my car and agreed on the deal I made when i walked in. I informed him in the parking lot that I would only make this deal if he offered me X for my trade and Y for my car and he agreed. When I came to his office, I again informed him I am only signing this for X and Y dollars for my trade and car. I shook hands and went to my salesperson to sign the paperwork. With my salesperson (who was actually wonderful) I again told him that because my trade in isn't written in the paperwork I would like to confirm the offer before signing. Unsurprisingly Phil was neither available over the phone or in person. Come the day of delivery, after a hard credit check and after my registration and inspection were pulled off my car and after I had signed everything until the finance office, I once again asked to confirm the final amount. To my surprise, the trade suddenly disappeared. Phil informed that "because my car was a lease, you have no equity in it". Not only is this wrong and an outright lie, it is deceptive and cunning, let alone immoral. Completely switched up on me the day of. $2500 for my trade equity completely vanished and Phil acted completely surprised I even made the statement about "equity" on my trade! I walked out extremely frustrated. Well I drove down the street the same day to their competitor and not only did they offer me the same amount for my trade I received an even better offer from them on the car. Surprise surprise Phil my car has equity! It's no wonder there are so many Accord's on the lot. Rarely do I write bad reviews, but I had to with this. Phil is the bad apple at Lia Honda. I wasted 3 hours of my day there.

Just bought a Honda Pilot and the experience from start to finish was seamless! Phil & JP went above and beyond to provide amazing service. Highly recommend JP for anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle- his knowledge and attention to detail is like no other! Thank you for making my experience so positive!

I bought a new 2026 Honda HRV at Lia Honda Albany. I had a very disappointing experience with Phil Singh, sales manager at Lia Honda Albany. After issues surrounding my vehicle trade in and equity payment ($4100), communication became extremely stressful and unprofessional. Phil Singh was belligerent, dismissive and confrontational. I wonder if he speaks to his mother the same way he spoke to me. Beware of Phil if you shop for a car at Lia Honda Albany.

Do Not buy from Lia Honda Albany I had a very disappointing experience with Phil Singh, sales manager at Lia Honda Albany. After issues surrounding my vehicle trade in and equity payment ($4100), communication became extremely stressful and unprofessional. Phil Singh was… actually belligerent, dismissive and confrontational with me when I was negotiating the price of my trade in. He proceeded to yell at me and said he will not take my trade in. Eventually I negotiated a price for my trade in that was acceptable to me and then he hung up on me. Most concerning was being told by Phil after they continued to delay sending my check to me that he would only expedite my check if I removed my review of him. That says all you need to know about Phil. He was trying to hold my money hostage ($4100) and (blackmail me) unless I took down the review. I received my check and my review stands. I wonder if he speaks to his mother the same way he spoke to me. Beware of Phil if you shop for a car at Lia Honda Albany. If he had just apologized to me, I would have taken down the review. I also would think that Lia Honda management would have called me to discuss this issue and apologize to me. So disappointing to have such a horrible experience when buying a new car.

Lia sales is just terrible. Complete bait and switch tactics. We had our car at the service dept and decided to sell it back to them instead of having the expensive repair. The sales department gave us a price for our car on the phone and said it was good for trade in or selling directly back to them. Came in 3 hours later and they cut the offer by half! They did a lot of hand waving with no real explanation. We were waiting for the lien release paperwork which would be coming in a week. We said if we were to accept their now lowball offer, we needed it in writing. The sales manager, a very unpleasant person, refused. He said maybe something could happen to our car in those next few days - the car was sitting in their own parking lot, where it had been for a week! How careless are they that they are afraid something will happen to my car while it sits on their lot? We wound up selling it to Copart for a lot more money. Stay far away from Lia sales if you value honesty and fairness.

This dealership practices bait and switch tactics. The sales manager, Phil, was very unpleasant. Really rude when called out on their dishonesty. Employees Worked With: Phil Singh

I purchased a 2026 Honda from Lia Honda Albany on 5/2/26. While I am happy with the vehicle and ultimately received a fair interest rate, I was very disappointed and upset by portions of the financing and management process. My finance manager was Brett Reihs. I called Brett to negotiate an increase to the value of my trade in car. Someone named Phil called me (later finding out his name is Priyesh "Phil" Singh, a sales manager I never met). He proceeded to be belligerent, dismissive and unnecessarily confrontational. He said my trade in was not even worth the price they were paying me. At one point he stated the dealership no longer wanted my trade in. I was ready to give up the whole deal purchasing a new car at Lia Honda. He then increased my trade in value by $1,000 and then hung up on me (the reviews I read re: Phil had similar complaints). I wonder if he only treats women this way? Moving on, I was splitting the equity of my trade in - part of it toward new car and the rest sent to me in a check. I then spoke with Brett Reihs again and told him I wanted the extra $1,000 to be added to my check being sent to me and not applied to new car. He replied, "No problem". He also tried to sell me a warranty package with an 84 month loan that would have cost me $11,000 more for the life of the loan. I had to repeatedly tell him I did not want the warranty and I did not want an 84 month loan. I would like to ask Brett if he would have suggested this kind of loan/warranty to his mother that would have cost her $11,000 more. I doubt it very much. I took a 72 month loan without the warranty. When signing the paperwork, Brett put the $1,000 toward the new car loan with no explanation. At this point I was exhausted from the verbal abuse and total disrespect from these two individuals. Additionally, I was informed I would receive my equity check by the end of the week after my trade payoff was completed (my trade payoff was completed 5 days ago). As of this writing, I have not yet received the check and multiple calls requesting updates were not returned. I am writing his because I believe customers should be treated respectfully when asking reasonable questions during a major purchase. Professional communication and follow through are extremely important, especially during stressful transactions involving significant amounts of money. As it stands now, I purchased a new car, you have my trade in car and MY equity money. This is not acceptable. I would appreciate acknowledgement of this complaint and clarification regarding the status of my equity check.

On 5/11/26, Phil Singh called me re: my equity check. He was unapologetic for his belligerent and verbal tirade when speaking with me last week. I told him I will be coming into the dealership this morning to get my equity check. He proceeded to say, “I will expedite your equity check only if you remove your review of me.” I think that says it all about Phil Singh. He was going to hold my money hostage until I removed the review. I received my check and review has NOT been taken down. Brett Reih never returned any of my calls. Anyone going to buy a car at Lia Honda Albany should avoid Phil Singh, sales manager and Brett Reih, finance manager at all cost. There are many reviews like mine on Phil Singh’s page regarding his verbally abusive nature. Employees Worked With: Brett Reihs Jr., Myron Simon, Priyesh "Phil" Singh, sales manager - so belligerent and disrespectful

Cheikh Mite did a fabulous job helping my wife get her new 2023 CR-V hybrid. We were able to negotiate a payment that matched her budget, made her happy, and made my life easier. Kudos!

Our family bought two cars from lia honda this year and both times the experience was great. Jai Patel aka JP worked to make our car buying process super smooth. Phil Singh Managing the sales desk helps you get the best price amongst any honda dealer nearby. They got all the paperwork and applications done in seconds and got us into our new vehicle without any hassle. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a Honda. Just go to Lia Honda Albany and see JP.
