Justin P is hands down the best salesman I have ever worked with. He did go above and beyond! He even sat in the passenger seat of my dad’s car to chat with him when my dad wasn’t feeling great but wanted to know about the car I was looking at. He always took the time to find the answers to the questions we had. He had the cars pulled up and ready to view as soon as I got there. He answered my questions respectfully even if I asked the same ones over again. I bought my first ever brand new car from him. A 2026 Tuscan SEL Hybrid. I’ve even texted him since with questions and he responds. I’m in love with my car and I have recommended Justin to my friends. He’s organized, easy to chat with, and solid guy.

I had a very pleasant experience at Lia Hyundai and am very satisfied with my new car and everything thing about it, Justin Pakatar was the associate that helped me learn about the car and what lead to my amazing experience, he is very professional and knowledgeable about his job and I highly recommend him and Lia Hyundai if you are looking for a new car!

Justin was very helpful even though he was not our salesman. He took us out for a test drive and was just a good guy. If your shopping for a car, look for Justin.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND LIA HYUNDAI. Worst buying experience ever. I purchased a used EV from Lia Hyundai of Albany on Sept 20, 2025. Before purchasing the vehicle or signing any sales paperwork, I confirmed that the vehicle was eligible for the IRS used clean vehicle tax credit - I was told via text by my salesperson Justin Pakatak and multiple times in person by Justin and Paolo Albanaese that it was eligible. When signing the paperwork, I requested paperwork verifying the time of sale report submission to the IRS, I was told no one was in the office that day to submit the report and was given a phone number to follow up on Monday but was assured that it would be done within the 3-day reporting window. I called on Sept 22 multiple times to get a copy of the report, I was sent to several voicemails, my messages were not returned, and my emails were not returned. After following up with multiple people both at Lia Hyundai and Lia Auto Group, I was told by sales manager Jeff Hannagan on April 7, 2026 that the vehicle is NOT eligible, but was not given any reason (namely, is the vehicle itself an issue, or did Lia submit the report incorrectly). Either way, I was blatantly lied to. Now, I may have my federal income taxes rejected by the IRS and am out $4000. I am following all legal venues available to recoup my loss. I will NEVER recommend this dealership or work with them again.

Do not purchase a vehicle from Lia Hyundai of Albany NY. They lied to me multiple times regarding my vehicle and I am now out $4000 and have a major paperwork disaster with the IRS because of them. On September 20, 2025, I purchased a used 2023 Hyundai Kona EV from Lia Hyundai of Albany. Our salesperson was Justin Pakatar. Before I viewed the car, I confirmed over the phone that the vehicle IS ELIGIBLE for the Federal pre-owned electric vehicle tax credit (30% of the purchase price, up to $4000). I confirmed again with our sales person that the car IS ELIGIBLE, BEFORE I signed the purchase agreement on September 20. Again, I was told the vehicle qualifies. So I purchased the vehicle for a sales price of (under the IRS limit of $25k). However, that day, when I asked for confirmation that a time of sale report was submitted to the IRS, the finance manager claimed that no one was in the office that day (a Saturday) who could submit the report to the IRS, and was promised that it would be done by the end of the day on Monday (Sept. 22, 2025). I specifically told both the sales person Justin and the finance manager that I did not want to leave the car dealership without proof of submission, however because we had driven 2 1/2 hours and had to engage a babysitter for the entire day, I decided to trust that Lia was not deceiving me and would make good on their promise to submit the report on time. On Monday, I called the office to get a copy of the report, and was unable to reach anyone on the phone who could help me. I finally ended up emailing the office manager Cindy Haight, who reached out to the General Manager Haris Bhatti with no response. On April 1, 2026, I contacted the dealership by phone to get a copy of the time of sale report in order to submit my taxes, I was sent to multiple offices, and no one was able to help. I finally spoke to business manager Jeff Hannagan on April 3, 2026, who said the report needed to be submitted and needed my SSN. I provided this information to him twice. On 4/7/2026 I received an email saying the vehicle is not eligible for the IRS tax credit. I have filed a complain with the BBB and suggest anyone else in this situation do the same. This is fraudulent and extremely unprofessional as they knew before I stepped into their showroom that I would not purchase a vehicle ineligible for the used EV tax credit.

My daughter and I worked with Justin Pakatar on a new Kona. We ended up not going that direction, but he was great to work with. I’d highly suggest reaching out to him if for your Hyundai needs.
