The Difference Between a Great Dealership and a Great Team After shopping at several Hyundai dealerships across Florida, Greg and I experienced firsthand just how much the people make the difference. Our experience at another dealership was frustrating. We were told that an advertised promotion was essentially just a way to get customers into the showroom. We also received a trade-in offer before anyone had even taken the time to properly inspect our vehicle. It left us feeling like earning our business wasn't the priority. Then we visited Germain Hyundai, and everything changed. From the moment we arrived, John You treated us with professionalism, respect, and genuine enthusiasm. He took the time to understand what we wanted, answered every question honestly, and never once made us feel pressured. His knowledge of the vehicle and commitment to customer service were exceptional. Equally impressive was Jami Bordner Gribes, the Internet Sales Manager. She delivered exactly what she promised. There were no games, no surprises, and no bait-and-switch tactics. She was transparent, responsive, and worked hard to earn our business instead of assuming she deserved it. The entire Germain Hyundai team proved that buying a vehicle can actually be enjoyable. They respected our time, valued our trade, worked with us fairly, and made us feel appreciated throughout the entire process. In today's market, consumers have plenty of choices. What separates one dealership from another isn't just price. It's honesty, integrity, and how you're treated. Germain Hyundai earned our business because they demonstrated all three. If you're looking for a Hyundai, I highly recommend starting with John You (727-528-1225) and Jami Bordner Gribes at Germain Hyundai. They turned what had been a disappointing shopping experience elsewhere into one of the best vehicle purchases we've ever made. Thank you both for restoring our confidence that outstanding customer service still exists. You have earned customers for life.

Gary the shop manager is so unfriendly and unprofessional. Dawn even worse. This place robbed me $200 for a diagnostics test I told them I didn't want performed. Then gave me a quote double what anyone else had quoted - after I called 6 times, speaking to someone every time - before receiving an absurd quote 2 hours later. They held my car and wouldn't give it back without paying the diagnostic fee - then told me that I probably shouldn't come back ever again. John, the other man anger apologized, and said that's not how things typically work there, and that they'd consider reimbursing me for the diagnostic test the following week. Just spoke to Gary asking if they were going to - he laughed, said absolutely not, and ended the conversation there. It wasn't even my idea to seek reimbursement, it was their other managers. Clearly horrific line of communication there, and zero standard of service, hospitality, or customer retention or support. DONT GO HERE.

Maintenance. The car, a Tucson is great. It has a tremendous warranty. The problem is getting it in for Service for anything other than routine maintenance. They want to schedule an appointment 24 to 48 hours prior to them looking at your vehicle. Who knows how long it will take to get repaired. They did not offer any loaners. The best they could do was an offer of perhaps a discount on a rental. Asking a single elderly woman to be without a vehicle for an unknown period of time we're having to rent a vehicle while I am still paying off the one that I own out of my limited income. This is not what I call customer service. You are a captured customer.

DISHONEST, LAZY, AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Came in thinking I was going to go home with an accident free car, at least that's what they said. The car was clearly in an unreported accident; tailgate was discolored with a really bad paint job, bumper was even worse. This dealership is a joke. Austin McWhorter was my sales guy and he sat there and twiddled his thumbs and played on his phone as we looked at the car. Great salesman buddy was lazy and unprofessional, a true representation of Crown Hyundai. Glad I did not purchase a vehicle here.

Below is my unfortunate experience with this dealership and will NEVER go back. Background: Purchased beautiful 2026 Palisade - THAT IS AMAZING BTW - My first SUV, my first brand new car, first time with a Hyundai. Purchased around 6M ago - at that time they asked me to leave a 5 Star review online (on another web page) for the guy helping me out and his colleague - which I complied with - the vehicle is amazing. -Sunday 5/17 8:00 AM - Arrive at dealership with nail in rear tire (located on side of tire) causing slow leak - normally in that situation tire will need to be replaced. Walk in explain situation, response is "You will need to talk with service desk around back, they are not here yet, they don't work on Sundays anyway." I have a seat at a table expecting to have some additional guidance/direction/update - Don't mind being patient and I did surprise them right when they open but after 15 min and people just walking past me I step outside and call the dealership myself. Explain situation over the phone again, including car & tire info, female on the phone "It will probably need to be replaced, service department not open today, soonest appt made for tomorrow at 1PM" Monday 5/18 1:00 PM - Service guy: "We cant find your appt, we don't know why, guy before you also couldn't find his appt either" they request to see email confirmation, which I show them and then Im instructed to go talk to someone inside. Rep Inside: "Yeah that's weird but we will get you taken care of, I'm already working on something, the guy sitting here next to me is about to leave so go talk to the nice female at the end of the counter." Female at end of counter "You can wait or leave it here, I cant you give u ballpark estimate of cost or timeframe, I don't know if they will need to order tire either and we don't have a courtesy vehicle to use and we are a little behind." Decide to leave it there, receive a call several hrs later "your tire will need to be replaced, we can order the tire for you and it wont get here until Thursday - probably not in the morning, you can drive around on spare in meantime if you can pick car back up before we close." Go pick up car and notice that nail is still in tire and has not been replaced with spare inside my car. Have to go back in, grab the female (who apologizes) and then has to grab someone else and then I have to wait to have this done, I leave with my car. Tues 5/19: Drive car around on spare Wed 5/20: Drive car around on spare Thursday 5/21 7:30 AM - Drop car off and have transportation arranged to take me to work. Receive phone call that afternoon, "tire got in late, probably wont be ready until 6PM, and we close at 6PM, you can pick it up tomorrow morning" per female. Friday 5/22 7:30 AM Arrange/pay transportation to take me to work and then from work to dealership after my shift. 5PM - pay my bill and leave. How would you feel after all that, from start to finish a Sunday to a Friday to have tire replaced????

Epitome of the sleazy car dealer, false and misleading advertising right on the vehicle, manager's special, clearance 20991 as advertised! I ask the salesperson if its a loaner vehicle and he says, no, so I ask why the low price and he says he thinks its off the price but he will check. Another salesperson comes over and says it's a one payment lease and I say it doesn't say lease, they say well it s a one payment lease. I decided to call them on it and ask to speak to the manager , so a manager named Casey comes out and he says its a one payment lease and I replied that it doesn't say lease and he stated it doesn't have to say lease, he tells me it gets a lot of people to stop in and refuses to honor the price advertised. When I said I am going to report them, he says go ahead, I ask for his business card and he smugly says I'm all out. I said the advertised price has to say lease on it, and he replies no, it does not, and that they are not required to post it's a lease. I go back the next day and suddenly the advertising has one payment lease written under the advertising! So if they aren't required to say it's a lease on their advertising and it gets a bunch of people to stop in, then why suddenly did they quickly write one payment lease on the vehicle after I called them out on it? Did they finally check with a lawyer to find out it needs to say it's a lease or did they get a visit from the Attorney General's office? Talk about unethical, misleading and fraudulent advertising. I was accepting the manager's special price as advertised posted on the vehicle and they refused to honor the price advertised and sell me the vehicle. That is typical bait and switch, false and fraudulent advertising and shows the unscrupulous and deceptive practices employed by this dealership . They need to honor the price advertised and clearly posted on the vehicle. Clear evidence as why you should avoid Crown Hyundai of St Petersburg.

Every time I come here some worker manages to make it a miserable experience and make me feel as though I am inconveniencing them. Juan was great though!

Easy experience! Every staff member from start to finish was kind and courteous!! Made my son's first time car buying experience a pleasure!

We had a great experience purchasing our vehicle here! Everyone we worked with was extremely helpful, friendly, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. They took the time to answer all our questions and made sure we felt comfortable every step of the way. We're really enjoying our new-to-us Hyundai Tucson and couldn't be happier with our purchase. John and Travis helped us.

I was looking to lease ionic 9, and I was crunching some numbers for monthly lease payment, you know just for the heck of it as never before I had leased, I have been purchasing cars, actually have purchased 7 of them in last 30 years or so. Just a brief background... So when I crunched the numbers using Edmund's lease calculator, there was a huge difference in monthly payment something like $150/month. I happened to drive to St Pete, so I swung by just to see Crown's number vis a vis Edmunds... not the sales guy probably his manager(s) also tried to use Edmund's and found that they were way over calculating the monthly payment using (their) calculating methods.... Then this guy ()not the sales guy) started telling me that I was trusting Edmonds more than Crowns, I told them not only me millions of Americans trust Edmund's and they should trust too, and take it as a learning moment and fix their calculation method so that they can do right by the customers and fire those managers.... Obviously I did not end up leasing with them... my situation is different, I wasn't hard pressed to lease I have a fairly new (2+ years) old ride. This rating is not for the sales guy but for the manager(s) who started to crunch numbers using Edmund's lease payment calculator. So buyers/lessors be aware, do your home work...

It's been 18 months since we wrote this review, and all we can add is that our salesman, John You, has ALWAYS been available and helpful anytime we've asked. Thank you, John You. Justin Callahan, Sales Manager, continues to check in on us whenever we've been at Crown for routine service on our 2025 Genesis or Tucson. Thank you, Justin. We sincerely appreciate the comfort of knowing you care and are there for us. Casandra Rancourt has helped us courteously and efficiently, always following through with excellent communication. Thank you, Casandra. Our Service Manager, Drake Alexander, knows his Genesis and has expertly helped us with routine service and even a not-so-routine matter, which he efficiently resolved. Thank you, Drake! We are in good hands with the Crown Team mentioned above. Oh, and did we mention, we love our GV70 3.5T SP and Tucson SEL Conv.

I had an appointment for 11:00 for an oil change and tire rotation. It is now 2:45 and I'm still waiting. Worst service any. This was not a free service I am paying to sit here for almost 4 hours to get my car serviced. Ridiculous

big waste of time fake people .......had me waiting for 2 hours for nothing not single update from the dude and when i spoke with the manager bro was giving me attitude short lil dude, not friendly

I have visited this service multiple times, and unfortunately, I am never satisfied. Each time, the communication has been poor, and the staff has not provided adequate attention. During my most recent visit, I experienced [mention a specific issue, e.g., a long wait, poor service, unexpected costs]. This has been a recurring issue every time I've been here. I hope they take these comments seriously and improve their service. For now, I cannot recommend this place.

They can sell 'em, but the can't service 'em! This service department demonstrates all that can done poorly in servicing customers with their issues. - -aloof service techs with poor people skills and lack of communication -an unheard of policy of having to leave your vehicle just to wait to get it diagnosed. You are told you cannot make an appointment to get your vehicle diagnosed. -vehicle at service department for an egregious amount time with little to no communication/updates -repeated attempts to "fix" the same issue -reluctance to provide loaner vehicle until you complain to a manager -excuse after excuse with no consideration for customer inconvenience Trust the other 1 star reviews. It's that bad!

Service Department delivers as promised. Juan was spot on with my vehicle repair. I was in trouble with my 2020 Elantra GT driver's side window stuck in the down position. He showed genuine personal interest and concern on my behalf, getting my vehicle completed earlier than promised. Juan should be acknowledged for the outstanding job he does every day. Thanks for taking such great care of me and my car. Penguinn

My husband bought a brand new Hyundai Ionic 6 from Wesley Chapel Hyundai. No complaints at all with that dealership...they were WONDERFUL in every aspect of selling us this EV! However, we traveled for the day a week later and found ourselves very low on a charge, 20%. We found 4 different places to charge but they were either not chargers for the Ionic 6, or you had to sign up for different charging points. We said, no worries we will go to the local Hyundai dealer. We found one (charge now down to 15%) at Crown Hyundai Dealership. My husband said we're in a bit of a pickle and we need to charge our New Ionic 6. He said to my husband "our chargers are ONLY for those that bought the vehicle from us".(obviously we would have paid) but he asked the manager and the manager said ABSOLUTELY NOT! Can you imagine? We took a big risk and drove home with our percentage down to 5%. Something needs to be done so other Hyundai customers don't have to go through this like we did!

DONT SERVICE HERE! Please please save yourself the time and frustration.... If you need service GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Terrible time getting responses from customer service. I understand being crowded... after waiting 6 weeks just to drop it off I was told it could take up to ten days for a tech to look at it. Okay fine, crowded, things take time. I've tried to be patient... as of today it's been 31 DAYS, and I still dont have a solid confirmation my car has been looked at. (Edit: Now I do) It was pretty frustrating and quite difficult to try and get any sort of information over the phone. The majority of my calls were not answered.

I went into the dealership to help my mom find her new dream car after reviewing all the options from other dealerships and manufacturers. We scheduled a test drive for a new Tucson, and Eric Valladares was quick to respond and keep us updated, even with poor weather delays (and with great humor too!). Eric brought us through the test drive, where we were both highly impressed, both by the car and his explanation of its abilities. He didn't leave any major detail out, and when it came to finding the exact color preferences and trim, he never rushed us to make any decisions and always tried to find ways to make it easier for us. We left that day very happy, both with a new car at a great value and a great experience due to Eric's professional and down-to-earth communication skills. I recommend anyone work with him in the future if they're in the market for a Hyundai!

My service advisor for the last two years has been Lori Kalansky, and she has been a gem amongst the rough. I cycled through two short timers before her, and while the saga of my car returning for service for the 6th time this week for the same problem has been infuriating beyond words, Lori has always been communicative with me, shown empathy, and been just a text message away. She is a true professional and kept me in the loop during the last time my car was in for six weeks while the techs attempted to diagnose and fix the problem (still hasn't happened), but I feel like I have an ally on my side fighting for me. She has made sure I am taken care of with loaner vehicles. I recommend selecting Lori as your service advisor when you have the choice when booking your appointment. Thank you again Lori!

I want to give 5 stars to Brian Dudley, the sales manager last night. My Tucson was acting funny around 8 o'clock. I just happened to be by the shop I pulled in and they were closing up and Brian took the time to help me out. And even put one of those gadgets on to see what was exactly going on and then translated it for me.. Most sales managers I've dealt within the past would have not gone to that extent, he definitely puts the customer first. Appreciate you brian

DO NOT GO HERE. If I could give this place no stars I would. Took my 2023 Hyundai Elantra after purchasing it from a different dealer ship and with 48 hours my ac was blowing warm. Went to this location to get it fixed because my car is still under warranty, made an appointment for a Friday and when I got there to drop it off I was informed by a very rude and blunt employee that they "didn't diagnose cars over the weekend" then why do I drop it off on Friday for it to just sit and wait till Monday???? I didn't drop it off that day and made an appt for Tuesday morning and dropped it off Monday evening so they could have even more time, 3 days went by of them having my car absolutely no communication on the whereabouts of my car and tried to call them multiple times to see what was going on and they couldn't bother to even pick up those calls. Finally got a hold of them and was informed that my car hadn't even made it in the bay to get looked at yet! So I went and picked it up because no normal person can be without a car for days on end. This place really needs to take a lesson from the Fitzgerald location because they were able to diagnose and fix my car in 48 hours and made my appointment for THE ACTUAL DAY THEY COULD LOOK AT IT not to mention everyone there was beyond welcoming. Do better.

Glen and everybody at Crown Hyundai was extremely easy to work with. We went in and test drove a vehicle and Glen presented all the features and options. We went through our wants and needs and was NO pressure at all. We ended up shopping around and couldn't beat their first offer they presented to us. No haggle, no hassle. 5/5 stars and couldn't be happier. This place sets the standard on how your car buying experience should be. From the top down I highly recommend this dealer.

Terrible customer service. it took 2+ months to get an appointment. When I arrived they said it would take another 10 days just to diagnose my car. what was the point of my appointment! highly recommend going somewhere else!!

If I could give zero stars I would!! Waited 3 weeks just to get a diagnostic service appointment and, upon arrival, was informed they would need to keep my car for two weeks before it was even looked at!! This is not normal. The service rep wasn't even kind about it. Will never do business with this company!

Our Genesis GV70 air conditioning recently stopped cooling. Not a good thing with summer just around the corner here in Florida. I reached out to Crown Hyundai Genesis, speaking initially to one of the schedulers, Ashley I believe. The conversation was pleasant and professional. She set a realistic and reasonable expectation, that someone should call me back within 24 hours to schedule the warranty work to get the ac fixed, as they were very busy with similar work. Before close of business the same day, I was contacted by the service advisor Cassandra. She told me, if I could get it to them the same day, they would get started on the repair right away and that she had a loaner car just return, so I wouldn't be without wheels while they did the work. Wow! talk about under promising and over delivering! That's the way it should be done everywhere, by everyone. Cassandra even called me again before I left my house, to let me know that the loaner was an electrified Genesis, and would that be ok. I told her the small community I lived in didn't have very many electric charging stations nearby, and would it be at all possible to get a gas powered vehicle. She apologized and offered a G70 sedan, which I was totally and completely fine with. Cassandra is a shining example of what a dealer service advisor is supposed to be, and a credit to her profession and the dealer. The ac repair work was done in less than a week, and they even replaced the oxidized bright trim around the windows, that was also covered by warranty. Kasandra called me at least two times during the week to keep me up to date on the repairs and order status of the window trim parts. This was without a doubt one of the best dealer service experiences I have ever had anywhere, and I cannot sing enough praise for Crown Hyundai Genesis and Cassandra. I would most definitely recommend them to a close friend or family member. Thank you Crown!

I took my Santa Fe in because I had an engine light on. I had previously taken it to AutoZone where they will run a quick diagnostic. AutoZone, after total of 10 minutes, told me it was my catalytic converter or something feeding into the converter. When I dropped it off at Crown, they had it for eight days And returned the same diagnosis. They wanted $5600 for the catalytic converter and a total of $7200 with everything else they added onto that. I just had the engine replaced, and they told me that I needed a tuneup after roughly 4000 miles. I had the oil changed less than two weeks prior to taking it in, and they told me I needed a new oil change. Then they wanted outrageous prices for cabin filters and windshield wipers etc.. I ended up taking my vehicle to 58th and Central where they diagnosed it the same day and replaced the converter for a cost of $1100.

Eric V was amazing! I really enjoyed my time and felt very prepared with my new vehicle!

Overall bad experience. Sold me a car with a check engine light on but "it was just the gas cap was loose" yeah I believed it. I really wanted the car. I know my mistake. Well wasn't the gas cap and almost a month of very little communication and alot of frustration I finally got my car back. I wasn't very happy with the experience or service team. Quality at this dealership has steadily declined over the years. Customer service on the genesis brand flat out sucks there. Have the receipts to prove it.

Bought a car from here and had horrible service Chris the advisor jerked me around and didn't fix my car. The manager Ryan wasn't empathetic and didn't do what he said he was gonna do.

Took our Tucson in for a basic oil change that had a 9:00am appointment. After more than 2 hours, it was finally done. Then we had to wait an additional 20 minutes just to pay the bill (the one and only person that could take payment was on a smoke break!) Where we're from, the dealer honors their appointment and we're out of there in 30-40 minutes. Poor management at this dealership.

Worked with Glen Gasbarro after reaching out to four different salespeople from four different Hyundai dealerships. The decision to work with him was incredibly simple because his clarity, integrity, and patience stood in incredible contrast. If you want to buy a Hyundai, choose Crown. But most importantly, if you want to buy it from someone you can trust, reach out to Glen. It's pretty much that simple. Also, kudos to Van Herrera in the Finance Department, another good human who's easy to work with and incredibly helpful. Thanks Team Crown!

I recently had a small issue with my Genisus and when to Crown Hyundia for the repairs. Lori was my case manager for my car and she was wonderful. She was so nice and helpful and went the extra mile to help me through this process. I'm so greatful to her and crown hyundia.

This is the second car I've purchased from Crown Hyundai, and Justin Hoffman has been, by far, the best sales consultant I've worked with throughout the process. Although this is my third time working with a sales consultant here, Justin stood out for his approachability and genuine kindness. He truly understood what I was looking for, and the experience was so wonderful that I took three of his business cards to share with family members and friends who are considering a new car.

I had to have repairs done to my car recently. Chris in the service department was awesome, he would text me with updates on what was going on, I was very impressed with how caring and nice he is. When my car was finished he arranged for an Uber driver to pick me up . Crown is lucky to have Chris representing them.

Crown Genesis Dealer - 2025 GV70 Buyer's Review August 2024 We've had decades of good experiences doing business with Crown Dealers at Eurocars, and Crown Acura since 2000, and were looking forward to a similar experience at Crown Genesis. Upon reading buyer's negative reviews of other Hyundai/Genesis dealer experiences, it was decided to first contact Crown Genesis's general manager to get a feel for what to expect. JAY BIGGESTAFF, was readily available and had heard of our findings but assured us that we would be satisfied with his Crown Genesis team, and IF there were any issues, he would personally look into them. He confirmed our choice of JOHN YOU as Sales Agent and assured us his Sales Manager Justin Callahan, would follow thru with providing an excellent experience. He was right! JOHN YOU, our Sales Agent had excellent product knowledge, was consistent in making himself or his associate Joel, available at our convenience and did an excellent job with communications, even returning a call late one night. He represented our interests in a pleasant professional and courteous manner in all facets of our buying experience; helping to prep our vehicle; took his time training us with the car's myriad features; and did it all pleasantly and without any pushiness. We were comfortable with John You. Great job John, thank you! JUSTIN CALLAHAN, Sales Manager, introduced himself at the beginning and personally checked in with us regularly including during our pleasant experience with the Finance Manager, Rashawn Latimer. We did experience a "significant glitch" regarding our Acura trade-in that Justin promptly handled to our satisfaction, thank you Justin. At the end, we happily reported to Jay, that our new '25 Genesis GV70 3.5T Sport is fantastic and so was our buying experience with the fine people at Crown Genesis Dealership. Thank you all again!

Excellent experience with Eric and Lloyd at this Hyundai dealership in St. Pete. I've been to many dealerships in my life and this one was by far made me feel the most comfortable by giving me all of my options so they could best suite my needs. If you need to get a new car, Hyundai's are amazing and definitely come see Eric and Lloyd!

Just had my first experience with their service department and couldn't be happier! My advisor, Jarett Ziemak, was very knowledgeable and professional and the dealership was spotless, including the comfortable waiting area. Will definitely use them for all my future Hyundai needs!

i had an 11:00 am appt with jarrett and arrived a few minutes early. i was greeted by the porter and jarrett who advised hewould be able to get me out in an hour. true to his word, i hadan oil change and tire rotation and walked out the door inone hour. great job to jarrett !five stars all the way!!!!! new dealership is beautiful by the way!barbara kg

Let me start by saying that I understand and empathize with the fact that the service department has been understaffed for a long time and only a few months ago remodeled their office/bays in order to tear down the awful portable office they had set up. That said, this place charges you out the you-know-what. I drive a 2016 Veloster. Back in September, I needed a new crankshaft positioning sensor. They wanted to charge me $530 to replace it. I told them that's outrageous and they offered me a discount down to $430. Still crazy, but I bit my tongue and paid it. Now, in April, I needed my spark plugs and coils replaced. (Why two repairs in 7 months? I guess that speaks to overall Hyundai manufacturer reliability, huh?) They quote me.... wait for it.... are you sitting down? $1500. I asked them if they were on drugs and they offered to quote me aftermarket parts instead and said it'd be $850 but I wouldn't get a warranty for the work they did. So after tax and fees, I was paying almost $1000 for sspppaaarrkkkk pluuuuuggssss... am I losing my mind here? I tried asking service advisor Chris for help, but he seemed half-asleep or maybe just dead inside from getting yelled at all day. It's nearly impossible to reach these guys, btw. Every time I called, I'd get a voicemail. Eventually I got to service manager Ryan and he was more upbeat and awake, but when I tried asking him why their labor rate was $200/hr and why they were claiming it took an hour to replace the plugs and coils (it didn't), he ran out of the building with his backpack and sunglasses on. I'd tried to chase after him, but he was too quick for me. That man is a cheetah. (I'm joking, I didn't chase him, but he did run out while his service advisor looked helplessly to him for help with me questioning the rates) Honestly I feel bad for the sales guy Ashish I've been working with because he's a peach and I LOVE the 2024 Kona I was shown, but I'm so reluctant to ever drive a Hyundai again due to the recalls and regular maintenance required and the fact that this dealership's service department seems more equipped to just overcharge rich old ladies who don't know any better than to actually offer fair and reasonable rates to working class people. Very likely that these experiences will push me into the loving arms of Mazda instead.
