Overpriced used vehicles. Very pushy salesmen. Manager is extremely pushy as well. Not a place I'd even go back to

I went to Lia Honda of Kingston to service a Honda CR-V. I thought the interaction with the service writer was great and the repairs were performed in a timely manner. I had a great experience with the dealership and thought their prices were reasonable. Everything has gone up in price across all aspects of life and people tend to always complain about car repairs. I was completely surprised to see the window into the shop and really feel that it shows the openness of the dealership and the staff. They aren't hiding anything and they are all working hard. I was completely satisfied with my interaction with the dealership and would recommend the dealership to anyone and everyone.

I like using lia kingston honda for my car maintenance service BUT since my last oil change less than 5k miles ago, the next service i needed at 130k had been $429 and now less than 5k miles ago the fee is $629!. What a rip. Currently looking for a reputable shop to go to. So mad that i was told not to worry and do the 130k on my next visit! ( i was at 131k at the time!) Almost a 50% increase!

Don't bother! Horrible service Center. Don't expect to get anything done in a timely fashion. Even with an appointment, an oil change takes 2 hours. I had this experience twice. Won't be going back!!

Beware. I had a scheduled oil change for 9:45am. When I made the appointment with the service associate, I asked how long are their express oil changes and she stated 45 minutes. I arrived at 9:35am for my 9:45am appointment to give me time to properly check in. I was then told it would be minimally 2-2.5hours. I explained that I was told 45 minutes and the service associate who was too busy to even look at me directly who kept walking around behind his desk stated that they have a "new girl" working and she gave me incorrect information. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait 2.5hrs and I still need an oil change. This does not represent "express" service. Poor service all around, very misleading.

I sold my car rather than ever having to deal with Lia Honda of Kingston again. Hondaof America and Lia Honda dealerships are just not worth my time or hard earned money. Used to love Honda of Kingston (a few of the old workers are there and are pleasant), but once the grand "LIA HONDA" conglomerate bought it over things just crashed and burned. When they couldn't resolve problems, Honda of America used to step in and help, but recently they have turned to automation and call centers with rude people. I would just suggest you buy another brand of vehicle- one that doesn't promise 250,000 miles, and doesn't report/correcxt the high rate of rust and poor mechanics. My 2015 vehicle couldn't be left undriven for more than 1 week before the battery died and needed a recharge from the first day. Just disappointed in the whole corporation and their LARGE LIA HONDA monopoly. GOOD riddance LIA!!!!!!!

This review is for the dealership side, not maintenance. Very uncommunicative. Will straight-up lie to you about costs and accessories (at least the sales rep Jaiden did). Gave me the wrong VIN (wtf). Put my full name and photo of me with my car on their facebook without my knowledge. Now I can't get them to give me paperwork I need for insurance. I would say avoid, but your other options aren't any better.

Lia Honda of Kingston NY provided such a great service to helping me purchase a new vehicle. My sales rep, Luther Johnson, in particular was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. I appreciated Luther's kind and caring support to helping me find a car, escorting it himself from Albany, and communicating with me the whole time. He even helped me with my insurance company and went to the DMV himself! Thank you Luther for all of your help, it is greatly appreciated!

Good place. Only took them an hour and a half to replace the evaporation canister and the front brakes. Also got a new customer discount. I was happy with everything.

Today on the Lia Honda website there was listed a CRV hybrid Touring at this location. I texted that I was interested in that car and was responded to by two sales people, Destiny and Sabrina. At no point was I told the car was sold or preordered. I made appointment to come in and test drive today at 4:15. When I got there the employee told me the car was preordered and not available for test drive, but that I could preorder with a $500 non-refundable deposit. So it costs $500 to test drive a Honda hybrid CRV, but Lia Honda of Kingston does NOT disclose that to potential customers. When I returned home Sabrina called to ask if I wanted to preorder. She was told by me what I thought of this company. Moments later the sales manager called because Sabrina said I was upset. He told me the car was sold yesterday. Sold or preordered doesn't matter when a company is dishonest. I will not do business with a company that so little regard for my time or forthright communication.

Do NOT bring your car here for service! I repeat-do NOT bring your car here! Several times the service "experts" tried to convince me that I needed services when it wasn't the case. They told me my transmission was leaking fluid- I took it to another non-dealer mechanic and they confirmed it wasn't the case. I never got work on the transmission and so far the car is fine. Then there was a recall on the Civic's A/C. Lia's service "experts" told me that my A/C issue wasn't related to the recall. But a week later Morehead Honda in Newburgh confirmed it was, fixed the issue, and didn't charge me a cent. Lia Honda service department has either the dumbest people on earth or the most dishonest. Got a Honda and need service? Go to Morehead Honda in Newburgh. They'll take care of you.

I purchased a used CR-V from the dealership two years ago with an extended warranty covering 3 years and up to 60,000 miles. When I made a claim under the extended warranty, I was told it only covered up to 60,000 total on the car. Since the car already had 50,000 miles on it when purchased, the warranty only covered 10,000 miles...NOT what I was told when I purchased it. Shame on me for not reading the fine print, but shame on Lia for lying at the time of purchase.

Really great service folks. Had to bring my Fit in for a warranty replacement, and I was a little wary since I've had plenty of dealerships be pretty terrible at service. These folks made sure I had a shuttle (which was on time for pickup as well!), did the work quickly, and were honest about any issues they found on the car (no inventing problems/showing me fake air filters/exaggerating things - they only flagged real issues, and were clear that they weren't severe but would need dealing with in the next 6 months or so). Super friendly as well, which is always a bonus, particularly early in the morning =P. They just sent me a followup with a link to the full service history for the car plus carfax, which I found really helpful (and I usually really dislike those kind of follow up emails - this is one of the few that was genuinely useful). If you're looking for an honest and reasonably priced place to work on your car, this is a great option.

Do not do business with this dealership. They made a deal with me took money down and when I was on my way back to sign papers and bring my car for a trade they sold the vehicle that they whete holding for me I found out when I was on my way there plus had to tell them TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK .Shame on the owners for doing business this way. If I could give less of a star I would!

Lia Honda should have separate listings on yelp for service and sales. I would give their service 4 1/2 stars. Very thoughtful and professional. I would give their sales department one star - like pulling teeth to get information. I have been in the market for a new car and stopped in there a few times in the past month - no one even asked if they could help me. I spent 2 hours there for a recall service on my Honda Fit last week. I also made an appointment that morning to speak to a salesman. When I got there the receptionist called for a salesman to speak to me. She called one salesman and told me he would be right out. A few seconds he called her back and from her end of the conversation apparently told her he was busy. I don't know what came up but I suspect he saw a 60+ year old woman and didn't think I was worth his time. The second salesman was polite but not too helpful. I told him I was in the market for a new car, I loved my Fit and was disappointed they stopped making it and I felt the CRV was a little big. After answering a couple of questions - instead of offering me a test drive, he blew me off with "Let me know if you have any questions" and walked away. I decided to walk around the lot where I noticed some Honda Fits thinking they might be leftover 2020 models. I noticed the Honda HRV which apparently replaced the Fit, Salesman never mentioned it?!? I went back in and found him on his computer and asked him a few questions about the HRV. Still didn't offer a test drive and left me feeling like I was bothering him. I went to the waiting room and got on my lap top while I was waiting for my service to finish. Service folks checked in with me a couple of times with updates and asked if I needed anything. The service guy confirmed that the HRV was a good replacement if I liked the FIT. Meanwhile, I was doing research on Consumer Reports and narrowed down my choices to the Honda HRV and the Suburu Crosstrek. The next day I went to a different dealer, was greeted with a latte, and a smile and bought a new car from them.

Worst customer service I've ever had. I was looking online because my lease is up in a year, when I got a text from lia of Kingston asking me if I was interested in getting out of my lease early and in the civic I was looking at. I responded with I feel like it was to early since I had a year left on my lease, they responded with they were doing rebates and it was totally possible. I then responded with all I wanted and if that was not possible I'd rather not waste my night and just wait for my lease to be up. Again I was reassured it was possible and to come in. So tonight I went in to be told the person I had an appointment with was not there then this women helped me and told me that they didn't even have the car I was looking at, and that she was not able to get me anything I wanted so I explained that I said I didn't want to waste my night and what I was told, and expressed my feeling of the poor costumer service and I felt like she didn't even want to really help so I left.... my car now is from them and I will not be going back and will be expressing my feelings to my friends and family to do the same. Seeing as I referred my coworker last week and she bought a car I will not be doing this again

Why do I always feel like I'm going to get ripped off every time I go in for service. Lousy customer service in the service department. I had to actually look for my car after it was serviced. Three service people were sitting around talking. I'm walking around looking for my car. No one could stop talking, get up out of their seat to let me know my car was behind the wall?? Really? I'm going to trade the Honda for a Subaru at the dealer next door!

NOPE. I don't recommend this dealership. Went to their new digs to see if anything had improved service-wise. Didn't know where to go. Went inside the sales area where three guys standing around just looked at me. No one asked me if I needed anything. Finally I asked where the service area was and they just pointed in that direction. (=We don't care about you if you're not buying a car.) Drove into service area where what looked like an 18 yr. old asked me what I was in for. I said my service light won't go off. He said they could check it out for me and will charge $125 for a diagnosis if I don't get the work done there. I also asked about my car radio seeming on the fritz and he suggested I video tape the problem. (=Please do the work for us.) He suggested this while at his desk fooling around on his phone. I then asked if one of the guys there could take a look at my tire pressure as I thought one of them might be leaking. To my knowledge, as I didn't move my car any further into the bay, some other guy just walked around the car and said my tires looked fine. This place was horrible before. NOW, with new digs to pay off you'd think they would be catering to the Honda customer; THEY AREN'T. AND they really don't seem to care if they get your business or not. I tentatively made an appointment with them and then canceled it the next day. Horrible customer service. I would literally be AFRAID to buy a car from them let alone work on my current Accord. (I went to Sam's Club to get new tires and noticed afterwards that the service light was finally off.)

The service department seems to be first rate, as is our new Hybrid Accord. This rating relates specifically to the loan department. There is a disconnect between them and the sales department. Our salesman said one thing; the loan department another. We were quoted one rate, and then given another. We cancelled an extended service contract within the allowed thirty day window. Then learned that Lia Honda had added the cost of the contract to our purchase price, even though they knew we had paid for the contract separately on a credit card! Resolving this has not been exactly a fun experience. All in all, we would recommend their service department, but not recommend buying a new car from Lia Honda.

I brought my 2013 Honda Odyssey with 62000 miles in because the paint was pealing off the primer in the middle of the roof in front of the sunroof. In researching this problem, I have found that this is a common issue with Hondas, particularly white ones. I made an appointment and was told that the service manager would need to see it and then find out if Honda would cover any part of the repair. This manager took the car and told me he took pictures. He then said that it was obvious I didn't take care of the car because there was dirt inside the doors (I was able to clean it in 15 minutes once I got home). I asked how that can affect the paint adhering to the primer on the roof? He then asked how often I waxed the car. I again asked how putting wax on the outside of the paint can affect how it adheres to the primer? He then told me that "he wasn't a paint guy" and would need to get back to me. That was over three weeks ago without any contact. He has not returned my calls to check on the status. In summary, a service manager with admittedly no expertise in this area, accused me of causing a problem that is a known issue with this car and failed to follow up in any way.

The service department will lie to scare you off for repairs you don't need. Especially if you're a woman. 1. After an oil change there, they gave me an "official report" of their courtesy check. Report stated I need to replace my front breaks, since they're down to 5mm, l thought that was strange, since I replaces them not to long before. So I check it at another facility and they showed me how my front breaks were nearly new and in great shape. 2. When I needed a repair of oil arm (expensive repair) they told me it happened because I didn't do oil change with them. So I started to do oil change at Honda, only to have the same problem 7 months later. But Honda refused to repair it, Because I told the manager Don Mayer that I have a trust issue with them, he got angry because I said it where other people can hear it. And now the dealer won't repair their faulty repair or anything else in my car. This is not a facility is not to be trusted. And now thousands of you can hear about Honda Of Kingston practices. If you want to get ripped off, use them.

The service department saved my weekend! I was traveling north on the NY thruway on Friday, September 14th on my way to Lake George for an extended weekend/mini-vacation. A few miles south of Kingston, around 3:15 pm my rear, driver's side tire blew out. I was able to safely maneuver over to the right shoulder and call AAA. While waiting for road services to arrive, I looked to see if there were any nearby Honda's to get the bad tire and the other rear tire replaced in a hurry. I called Lia Honda and spoke with Shirley. I explained my situation that I really needed to be up in Lake George that night (race packet pickup). She wasn't sure if they had my tire in stock and said she would call me back. After a few minutes, Shirley called me back said they did have two tires of my size in stock and they would be able to fit me in, but I needed to get there as soon as possible (they close at 6 on Fridays). Road services arrived, changed my tire to the donut and I cautiously drove to the Honda. I was greeted by a very friendly staff, who got me out of there in about an hour. All in all, I only lost about two hours time with the blow out and was able to make it to packet pickup with about 40 minutes to spare. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
