This is a review for the service department only - rude, slow, expensive. Skip it and go to Balise if you want a dealership or any local garage if you don't.

My wife and I just purchased a Santa Cruz, XRT from the dealership Ekko Soukha was our sales person , he was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful answering all our questions. Once we picked up the vehicle Ekko spent a great deal of time with us going over all the opinions and setting up the blue link and iPhone. Serval days later he even contacted us to make sure that we didn't have any additional questions and if we liked the vehicle. we are very pleased with Lia Hyundai

After spending several weeks visiting three different dealerships in search of the right car at the right price, only one truly delivered: Lia Hyundai of Enfield. From the moment I arrived, I was met with exceptional service at every level. The Lot Manager greeted me warmly, the Sales Consultant offered a genuine, no-pressure experience, and even the Finance Manager took a moment to offer a friendly hello in passing. To top it all off, the General Manager worked with me at closing to create a deal that exceeded my expectations. Lia Hyundai of Enfield may be a smaller store, but they are absolutely big on customer service. They made the entire process--from selection to pricing to delivery--smooth and satisfying. I'm extremely happy with my car, the deal, and the overall experience. They are truly worth the visit.

I own a 2017 Sonata plug-in hybrid with a leak in the hybrid inverter cooling system, which is independent of the engine cooling system. The mention of "hybrid" terrifies local mechanics, so I was left with no choice but a dealership. I pressure tested the system with ultraviolet dye but couldn't find the leak for lack of a lift and the plastic cowling covering the bottom of the engine compartment. Meanwhile the car sat in the driveway so long that the eight year old "auxiliary" battery (a fairly standard AGM Type 48 battery with reversed poles) was showing its age. It's sole purpose is to bring the electronics systems to life, like turning the key to the auxiliary position, so the hybrid system can take over and it doesn't turn over the engine. I have it towed to Lia Hyundai at 9:00 am on a Friday morning, call their automated scheduling system to have them look at it at 11:00 am, and call to ask if I need to be there in person, since I sent the keys with the tow truck driver, to which they said, "No, you're all set.". I get a call from a service manager to collect my car and contact information and was told that there will be a $169 diagnostic charge, to which I said, "That's not necessary. It has a leak in the inverter cooling system and a dying battery. I don't need to spend $169 to confirm that." Nonetheless, I had to pay the fee. Shortly after the call, I get a text from Hunter at Lia asking if I want to trade in my car. I respond, "Before or after I pay for the repairs?" to which Hunter replies, "That's up to you." I reply, "I'll be right there." I walk into the showroom and ask to see Hunter. The cashier/receptionist asks, "Who?" I said, "I got a text message from Hunter asking if I wanted to trade in my car that's in your shop." She says, "Oh...Hunter...Hunter doesn't work here anymore. He...he went to another dealership. Let me get you another salesperson. I meet with Ako(?) and he asks, "So what are you looking for in a used vehicle?", to which I respond, "I wasn't looking for anything. "Hunter" texted me to ask if I wanted to trade in my Sonata in your shop for $9,000 to $11,000, pending an appraisal, but apparently there is nobody named Hunter." Ako says, "Oh, that must be our automated marketing system." Shouldn't the cashier/receptionist have known that? He proceeds to take pictures of my car outside the shop and submits it to management for an appraisal before we start discussing the possibility of trading it in. I spent about two hours looking at Tuscon, Santa Fe, and Palisades and Ako REALLY wanted me to look at a holdover 2024 Tuscon in the showroom that the manager was motivated to sell. I didn't see anything that didn't give me sticker shock and eventually the manager came out to meet me and said that he could knock $6,000 to $7,500 off that 2024 Tuscon. I said that I needed time to do some research, see their appraisal, and speak to my wife, so I would talk again when my car was repaired. That evening, I check my phone messages and their automated scheduling system says my "1:00 pm" (not 11:00 am) appointment was missed and I need to reschedule, which I do for Saturday morning. I call Saturday morning and ask if my car has been looked at and they told me my car was never "checked in". "What do you mean, not 'checked in'? I made an appointment on your automated system, I called to ask if I needed to come in and was told no, I gave the service manager all of my info over the phone, responded to an automated sales pitch, met with Ako and the manager about trading in the car, Ako asked for an appraisal, I scheduled a second appointment on your automated system and my car is still NOT 'checked in'?" At 11:00am I get a text message telling me that I have a leak in the inverter radiator and a dead battery (Duh!), and that it will cost $1,230 to fix the leak and $406 to replace the battery. I check online and find the radiator, which is tiny, for $159 with free shipping and the battery at Costco for $179 if I special order it, and settled for $215 at Advance Auto down the street from Lia. A week after I had my car towed in, it was ready for pickup, with their excuse being that they had to wait for the part to come in. The Mobis (Hyundai/Kia) parts distribution warehouse is only 11 miles away in South Windsor. As I looked over the bill, I noticed three things: the $169 diagnostic charge was not applied against the cost of repairs, they charged me almost $50 for a gallon of antifreeze and there was a $25 charge with the notation (paraphrasing) "Customer responsible for shop supplies" (Were those organic Egyptian cotton 400 thread count shop towels?). That 2024 Tuscon on the floor had a sticker price of $48,000 and with $7,500 off, it would still be $7,500 MORE than a fully loaded 2026 Tuscon SEL AWD. I never got that appraisal and I will NEVER buy another Hyundai as long as Lia Hyundai dealerships are the two closest repair options.

Absolutely disgusting how you take advantage of people that don't know much about automobiles more than once my wife has been told car was unsafe to drive so she could be charged thousands of dollars to get something not broke fixed. There's a huge difference in parts that are broke and parts that are wearing out.Scare tactics aren't gonna work anymore. After buying two cars from you our next one will definitely not be. $169 for the hour to look at a steering rack $89 to inspect the brakes $150 for an oil change Plus all your other small charges $450 to be there a little less than an hour and a half.

Brought our 2023 Palisade in because it was leaking water horribly in the third row. While under warranty they said they couldn't find the source and still charged us a 169.00 diagnostic fee. Mike was far from friendly when queried about the lack of a fix. Horrible experience that makes me feel like maybe a Hyundai wasn't the way to go. Edit: Raised to three stars due to Melissa taking the time to talk with us about our issue and kindly refund the diagnostic fee. She is a very nice person, I wish the entire service staff reflected her comportment.

So here's the thing about this place... I went in for a compressor repair of my ac and it was expensive to say the least but I needed it done on one of the hottest days of the year in 2023 and now here we are again in 2025 and I need another one replaced.. that should not happen in 2 summers..and getting them to return my call to ask about the product sold to is not the best leaving vim for no one to call me back at.. I don't have another 1300 to spend on another air compressor that might or might not last another 2 or more years to then just have to replace it again.. all I want is help and am not getting it.. here it is 95 degrees on 7-16-2025 and I'm sweating in my car in traffic... this is unfair!!!!!!

I scheduled an appointment here because the Hyundai dealership near me was booked solid for over a month. This place was available the next day, so I took a shot. I listed all my issues clearly on the website when booking: the engine taking ~10 minutes to turn over after starting, a barely functional radio that only picks up about five stations, and minor body damage on the passenger-side rocker panel. I also selected the option for a free ride home and back when the car was ready. When I arrived, I was immediately told two things: they don't do body work (even though that was a selectable option on the website) and I live too far away to qualify for the free ride (also selectable on the site). Not a great start, but fine--I settled in the waiting room, prepared for a long day. After what couldn't have been more than a quick glance at my car, someone came out and confidently informed me that the car had started perfectly and the radio stations were all coming in crystal clear. This was laughable. The radio hasn't worked in the four years I've owned the car, didn't work on the way over, and it didn't miraculously fix itself when they pulled it into the garage. I told them they were mistaken. As for the engine issue, I wasn't surprised it started fine--it always does after being driven. The problem only happens after the car sits overnight, especially in cold weather. That's literally what I came in to have checked. They said they'd need to keep the car overnight to replicate the issue. I asked if they had a cot since they'd already told me they weren't giving me a ride home. Their solution? Charge me for a rental. When I picked up the rental, they doubled down on the radio working perfectly and this is when I was hit with a new issue: apparently, my front brake pads were the wrong size and dangerously installed, and some fluids needed to be replaced immediately. They failed the car on safety. That was surprising. I wasn't 100% sure but I thought the only place to ever work on my brakes was Hyundai. But according to them, I should prioritize this urgent (and convenient) issue over the actual concerns I came in for--especially now that, according to them, the radio was "perfect" and the engine "fine". Except--of course--it wasn't. When I returned to pick up the car, the radio still didn't work. I had to drag two employees out to the lot and make them flip through the static-filled stations before they finally admitted it. They brought the car around back, then came out again claiming it was suddenly working. It wasn't. They said they could dig deeper, but that replacing the radio would cost around $2,600. I pulled up the part on my phone--a genuine wiring harness from the dealership was about $300. They said their quote included the screen, which, as I had to explain, worked perfectly fine. Then they suggested the issue might be the seek button "not grasping stations," but that the tuning dial worked. So, I walked them out to the car and turned the dial in front of them. Nothing but static. They offered to keep the car another day, even waive the rental fee, so they could test it in the morning. But I had to be in New York the next day--and of course, I wasn't allowed to take the rental out of state. So, I left--with none of the issues I came in for resolved, a $2,300 bill for repairs I never asked for, and a car still limping along with the exact same problems. Sure enough, when I got home and checked my records, I confirmed that Hyundai was the only place that had ever touched my brakes. So now I'm left to assume one of two things: either Hyundai--the actual dealership--installed the wrong pads on my car, or these people were feeding me total nonsense. I know which one I'm betting on. This place is exactly the kind of stereotypical shop you hope to avoid. They are not mechanics and do not have the knowledge or skill to diagnose or work on your car. Instead, they will use scare tactics to try to get you to agree to all of the tire rotations and oil changes you can handle because that is all they know how to do.

I get my Hyundai serviced here. The store is clean, the people are nice, and the mechanics seem to know their work. It is expensive, but it's a dealership. Three stars because their wait times and communication are abysmal. They will tell you over and over "we will call you on X day to update you" and never follow through. If you want communication from this dealership, go in person and demand to speak to someone in charge. If they fixed their communication and management issues I would rate this a solid dealership.

Stay away from this place at all costs, brought in my car for a tire replacement under my warranty that covers it. Employee Lockard first gave me issues on getting the pictures done on the car and made me take my own pictures, and then 2 weeks go by and no response from them or any of there employees on when the tire would be in. The manager Nick Archer tried to say they attempted to reach out to me multiple times on phone but not once did I get a phone call or voicemail so clearly not the most trustworthy person. The only time the manager did reach out to me was once he saw my google review on the place but not once directly through phone, only email. On which he said he would make sure someone followed up with me and a free detailing of my car on the day of my appt. Had to end up calling them 2 weeks later to finally and get an appointment for the following Wednesday. Once the job is done (no mention of the detailing of course) looks like couple days later that same tire is having issues and giving low PSI signs, making me think they didn't replace my tire whatsoever. So again as I said before I would truly stay away from this place at all costs, a lot of lies and misinformation coming from them. There are plenty of Hyundais in the area, I'm 100% positive your car would be in better hands in any of those places.

Joron at Lia Hyundai of Enfield is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!! I purchased a used car from him and Lia Hyundai online and my experience was seamless! Joron was in constant communication with me! He livestreamed video of the car, inspecting every single detail. All of the paperwork was properly handled and the price stayed right as promised, no hidden fees or expenses. He drove it to an outside mechanic that I chose to have it test driven and inspected for me! He even made sure our cute Fiat 500L was properly loaded onto the shipping truck to trek across from Connecticut all the way to me in California! I cannot say enough how fantastic Joron is! Definitely trust him and buy at Lia Hyundai! Thank you Joron! You are simply the best!

I just signed up to lease a new Hyundai. It was the best car buying/leasing experience I have ever had. Everyone was helpful, kind, low-pressure, informative, and so much more. The car salesman was low pressure walking away to give me time to think about it but close enough to me so I could ask him the millions of questions I had. The financing staff were amazing. I always dread that part of it but it like no other experience I have had before. They were low pressure and very informative. I don't have the car in my possession yet but I'm not worried about the process because they were so great. I will definitely go back to them.

I've purchased two vehicles from Lia Hyundai of Enfield. My salesman, Joron aka J, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He felt more like a consultant, an advisor; never a salesman. He answered all of my questions professionally, and processed my purchase quickly. My experience with Lia of Enfield has always been positive. Will purchase my vehicles from there and recommend them as long as I am in the area. Now I'm a proud Veloster owner. Never before liked driving my commute, now I love to. Again can't say enough about Joron. If you are just looking for a great experience, ask for him. -Jeffrey Davis of Suffield

Don't ever buy a car from Lia Hyundai in Enfield or Hartford CT. I had issue with my 2015 Hyundai Tucson in March 2020 so brought it to dealer. Dealer told me my Cataylitic converter was clogged and engine was shot and would cost over 3,000 dollars to fix. So naturally I bought another vehicle. But I found out later there is a class action law suit against Hyundai in Federal Court for all 2014-15 Hyundai Tucsons over Cataylitic converter issues and engine issues since 2018. Hyundai dealer plain out lied to sell car period.

My daughter purchases a 2016 Tucson in January with 30 k on it after driving it 6,000 miles the engine blew she waited 2 months for the engine to be replaced then May 6th the replacement engine blew up . She is picking the car up today after it being down 3 months . When have you ever heard of any brand of car today going through engines ? The Service Manager was very helpful and my daughter was given a rental to drive but he didn't build the car so he can only do so much its up to Hyundai Motor to get the ball rolling . Another Manager told me today he has some customers that have been waiting for up to a year for an engine . Hyundai Motor evidently has a problem with their engines . Nobody cares that my daughter missed days of work when two engines blew and she continued to make her payments for an SUV . Again Please tell me in 2019 how many cars that you have heard of Engines blowing up ?? PS. They told my daughter they had 4 engines coming in the end of July .....................Beware

If you lease your car and are looking to buy it at the end, do not believe them when they say Hyundai Motor Financing requires an inspection fee and for you to pay for any mechanical issues their service department finds during this inspection. I called Hyundai Motor Financing because this sounded odd to me if I'm buying the car, and they told me they do not require an inspection or any fee for inspection at all. This is a tactic Lia uses to try and make more money off of you... they should be ashamed trying to scam people with this "fee."

This was one of the best car buying experiences my wife and I have ever had. We started off in the early afternoon only expecting to test drive a new car, and by the end of the afternoon we drove off in a new leased vehicle. And in between we were well taken care of by Bryce the sales rep and Tim the finance manager. Negotiations were not high pressure at all. We felt we got a really good deal especially given the tricky end of lease situation in our old vehicle. If you're in the market for a Hyundai I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Buying the car went fine but don't expect them to follow up with anything after the car has been purchased. I have made about 15 calls after the purchase of my vehicle with a question about my warranty and have had 0 calls back. Even the general manager has not called back. I highly recommend going elsewhere if you are trying to buy a car. There is too many places too chose from to go somewhere like this.

Alright, I've been holding off on this review because everything started out okay. I was hoping that the small issue we ran into would have been taken care of, but nothing has been done, so here we go. My boyfriend and I both traded in our cars for new leases about 3 weeks ago, yes, both of us. Dan was our salesman, and he was fine. The issue seems to be with the finance department, but we'll get into that later. Anyway, we went through the process, picked out our colors (mine was supposed to be a white Tucson with black interior), and went on our way. We picked up our cars on Saturday, and I was so excited until I opened the door and saw tan interior. This wouldn't have been a big deal if someone had called me, but they were just going to try and get by giving me something other than what I asked for. Serious lack of communication. Thankfully, Dan came through and got my the protective seat cover spray for free to make up for it. So that was forgiven. Now, we're going on 3 weeks, and my boyfriend still does not have plates or a registration, which was promised last week, and I just got charged for my old car that I traded in 3 weeks ago. I called the finance company, and they said that Lia Hyundai has yet to payoff my old car so that's why I was charged $296.10. What the heck? So now, I'm slapped with a payment I was not expecting or prepared for, and an overdraft fee. So now, I call Lia, and I ask to speak to the finance manager, and her exact word were "well, he should be in by 9. Notice I said should be?" What kind of business person says that to a customer? Lesson learned, we won't be buying from Lia again. We should have never left Balise who were nothing but professional when dealing with them and handled everything so quickly. Maybe if finance manager Tim spent less time at Sonny's getting drunk, he'd have his work done.

Lia Hyundai Enfield Ct. This place is by far the worst place to ever buy a car. Go anywhere else but here. Customer service sucks along with Dominic the manager. I will never purchase a car from them again. I purchased the Zurich protection plan for 1500.00, and they promised the world if something went wrong. A loaner car, no questions asked, will fix any dent or wheel scrape. Sure they will, 150 calls later, lots of yelling on the phone and threatening them with a attorney, then they will fix it. They will never return your calls or honor any warrantees without a fight. Fire the manager (Dominic) now and get someone that knows how to run a business.
